Traveller Chair was first designed in collaboration with a person with cerebral palsy. The team behind Traveller Chair were looking to increase awareness of their mobility aid and bring it to a new market, with people suffering a range of conditions affecting tiredness, anxiety, chronic pain and mobility. They were keen to present it in a way that felt more engaging and energetic, with a focus on the positive emotional benefits and the freedom that it can bring to people suffering from reduced mobility.
The project involved a ‘light’ brand refresh, messaging and tone of voice, website and animation.

The logo was already a part of the product itself, and so we needed to retain the chair icon. We chose to re-house this in a location pin, a symbol synonymous with travel. It also provided a softer and more friendly aesthetic, while negating the need for any retooling from a production perspective.
Alongside this, we introduced a fresher colour palette, new typefaces and guidance on imagery, with a focus on presenting scenarios that created a sense of inspiration and presenting possibilities, while feeling grounded and real and not forced or contrived.
The language and messaging we developed as part of this project injected warmth, with messaging designed to empower and provide our audience with the sense that anything is possible.
We created two animations alongside our animation partners ourshack.tv. The hero animation was created as a tool to work on both the website and as an introduction to the product for sales and partner meetings. The intention with this was to produce something upbeat that demonstrated the versatility of the chair, depicting it in several scenarios and with a variety of users. Part of the product's appeal is its ability to provide support and mobility in a variety of situations and events, and not just travelling through an airport, so it was important for us to capture this.
