NuWave is an alcohol-free beer boosted with mood-enhancing, natural botanicals and biotics which supports metabolism and gut health whilst delivering a sociable buzz.

We were approached by the founders of NuWave to create a bold identity that delivered a sense of attitude in line with the brand’s positioning.

The Design

The functional drinks category is a growing worldwide movement, as more drinkers seek healthier options to support their choice to ‘sober socialise’. NuWave has developed a proprietary blend of natural functional adaptogens and postbiotic supplements to take the category to the next level.

The brand’s look and feel is aimed primarily at Gen Zs, who are the fastest adopters of this movement - challenging societal norms and expecting more from life on their own terms. The new brand was created to redefine how you experience social moments, demanding more from life and defying convention.

The smiley was developed to provide a distinctive brand asset and allows NuWave to deliver a sense of personality and attitude in its communications. Messaging is delivered with a ‘cheeky wink’ nodding to the brand’s sense of defiance, and this is carried through in the tone of voice.
